DUNVEGAN – Provincial police have identified the victim in a crash between a tractor-trailer and a car on Highway 417 early Monday morning (Jan. 17).
SD&G OPP say 49-year-old Marie Desulme of Ottawa died at the scene after the crash in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, between County Road 20 (Highland Road) and County Road 23.
Desulme was a passenger in the car. The driver and another passenger were treated at hospital for their injuries, police said.
The truck driver was not hurt.
Police say a third tractor-trailer was part of the collision but did not specify how it was involved.
The investigation into the cause of the crash, which happened shortly after 5 a.m. on the Monday morning, is ongoing.
