Thirty guns seized from South Stormont home

ST. ANDREWS WEST – A South Stormont man is facing 17 weapons-related charges after a large-scale police operation Friday.

SD&G OPP say their officers as well as a number of OPP specialized units, the Canada Border Services Agency and RCMP searched a home on Post Road.

Officers say they seized a total of 30 guns as well as ammunition, a stun gun, bear spray and crossbows.

Crisis negotiators were also on site, the OPP said.

Two people were arrested.

A 31-year-old man is facing the 17 weapons-related charges including five counts of careless storage of a firearm.

A 35-year-old woman was also charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.
