SUMMERSTOWN – Two brothers – one from South Glengarry – are splitting a half million dollars.

Wayne Casey of Summerstown and his brother, Shawn, from Pickering won the second prize in the Daily Grand lottery last month.

Instead of taking $25,000 a year for life, the brothers decided to take the lump sum option of $500,000.

“Our dad always said, ‘Somebody wins.’ It feels surreal,” Wayne Casey said.

Shawn plans to add to his retirement fund and share some of the winnings with his children while Wayne has a new garage and solar panels in the works.

Shawn bought the winning ticket at a store in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
