WINCHESTER – Provincial police have laid charges after a man went on a rampage in Winchester this summer, smashing police property.
Video cameras caught somebody hurling objects off a police cruiser parked at the Winchester O.P.P. detachment on St. Lawrence Street and then firing an oil-drum sized garbage barrel through the glass front door.
This happened around 4:30 a.m. on June 13.
Police also learned that the Winchester Public School and Parmalat were also targets of vandalism, as well as Tagwi Secondary School near Avonmore, where a picnic table was burned.
A 40-year-old man from Cantley, Que. (about 20 kilometers north of Ottawa) is charged with six counts of mischief, two counts of theft and two counts of arson.
