Vehicle theft suspect taken down in South Lancaster

LANCASTER – A stolen vehicle case that started on Highway 401 in South Glengarry has ended with the arrest of a suspect.

Ontario Provincial Police say the vehicle was stopped around 9 a.m. and the driver ran away, prompting a large-scale search by police.

Witness Glenn Patton told Cornwall Newswatch that the suspect was taken down on Andrea Avenue in South Lancaster where officers had their guns drawn.

O.P.P. tweeted around 10:49 a.m. that an arrest had been made and “no further details (are) available at this time.”
