Charges laid in Highway 138 crash that killed Cornwall teacher

CORNWALL – Provincial police have laid charges in connection to a February crash on Highway 138 that killed a teacher from Marie-Tanguay school in Cornwall.

SD&G O.P.P. announced today (May 20) that Chelsea Heath, 22, of Greenfield Park, Que. is charged with dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Adriana Chretien-Lewis, 27, of Embrun, Ont. died Feb. 24 in the head-on crash on a stretch of the road between Wheeler Road and Myers Road, north of St. Andrews West.

Chretien-Lewis had been a third grade teacher at Marie-Tanguay school on Holy Cross Boulevard in Cornwall.

Heath sustained critical injuries in the crash.

She will appear in a Cornwall court July 14.
