TORONTO – A real estate appraiser from Williamstown is the latest person in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry to strike it rich.

John Szpivak, 68, won $64,596 on the Feb. 19 Lotto 649 draw, when he matched five numbers plus the bonus number.

The engaged father of four and grandfather of two plans to invest some of the winnings into his business. “This opens so many doors for us,” he said.

The winning ticket was picked up at the Esso on Boundary Road in South Glengarry.

SD&G has had a recent spate of winners. There’s a ticket out there, sold somewhere in the county, worth $100,000. Plus, two other winners have recently picked up $100,000 and $250,000 on Encore.
