CORNWALL – A Cornwall man is facing a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon after a case involving a BB gun at Cornwall Square.

Cornwall police officers were called yesterday (Jan. 14) to the Water Street mall for reports of a man having a handgun around the shopping center.

CPS spokesman Stephanie MacRae told Cornwall Newswatch the gun wasn’t being pointed at anyone but it was being “displayed.”

A 20-year-old was arrested near the west end of the mall though MacRae couldn’t say where the showing off of the firearm happened.

Johnathon Gauthier will appear in court Feb. 13.
