SD&G – Four health care centers in SD&G and one hospital in Prescott-Russell are receiving a total of just over $2.8 million.
Local MPP Jim McDonell announced the money Thursday as part of the Progressive Conservative’s “Ending Hallway Health Care” plan.
The lion’s share – $2.05 million – is going to the Cornwall Community Hospital.
The St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center is getting $86,000 while the Winchester District Memorial Hospital is receiving $280,000 and Glengarry Memorial Hospital will get $108,000.
Hawkesbury and District Memorial Hospital got $321,000.
The money is part of an additional $68 million for small and medium-sized hospitals across Ontario meant to address “sector challenges” and “previous funding model inequities” while protecting core services.
It’s in addition to the $384 million in base hospital funding doled out this year which was in the provincial budget.
