SD&G – The first blast to extreme summer heat has arrived.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning for the region around 11 a.m. Wednesday as daytime highs will hit the low 30s and with the humidity will feel like it’s near 40 degrees.
The heat is expected to continue through Friday before a cold front moves through, setting us up for cooler temperatures on the weekend.
The weather agency is advising people to take precautions this week, especially when working or playing outdoors.
A heat warning is issued when the high will reach 31 degrees or warmer for two or more consecutive days and the nighttime lows will not go below 21 degrees.
