
CORNWALL – A section of Pitt Street running under Highway 401 will be closed overnight for three nights starting tonight (Tuesday).
Tomlinson Group is in the midst of replacing both bridges for Highway 401 traffic with the eastbound span being replaced this year.
Pitt Street will be closed at the freeway overpass today (Tuesday) from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., tomorrow (Wednesday) from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. and Thursday from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
The closure will be from Tollgate Road to South Branch Road except for people who live and work in the area.
Brandy Duhaime, regional communications coordinator with the Ministry of Transportation, told Cornwall Newswatch, the contractor has a total of 15 days its allowed to close the street during the construction season this year.
The $13.3 million bridge replacement is expected to be done by June 2021.
