MP receives honorary diploma from St. Lawrence College Friday

CORNWALL – Outgoing local MP Guy Lauzon will be receiving an honorary diploma from St. Lawrence College on Friday.

Lauzon, who is retiring after serving the riding for 15 years, will receive the diploma during a convocation ceremony at 4:30 p.m. at Aultsville Theater.

The late afternoon ceremony will include the Governor General’s Academic Medal, which will be going to Emily Alyssa Winters. The Business Administration and Accounting graduate had the highest grade point average of any diploma program “in a reasonable time” at SLC’s three campuses.

Hundreds of graduates from various SLC programs will be getting their certificates during three ceremonies on Friday at 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
