CORNWALL – The Cornwall office of Bereaved Families of Ontario will be going ahead with closing down operations at the end of the month.
The grief support organization was not able to raise enough money to keep going after almost 34 years in the community, guests heard at its final AGM last week.
A GoFundMe page set up by a volunteer last month raised only $490 of the $10,000 that was needed to keep the organization running.
BFO announced in early April that it was closing unless some “major sources” of funding were found.
During its AGM, the agency also recognized the Ghost Walk for Charity for its support over two years, which covered funding for 11 adult support groups.
