CORNWALL – People from Cornwall, SD&G and Akwesasne opened their wallets Thursday bringing a major hospital fundraiser to its second largest total ever.
The 13th annual Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon on Thursday (April 4) was held for 13 hours on boom 101.9 and 1045 Fresh Radio.
The final fundraising total was $151,110 – the second highest total ever for the major fundraiser for the Cornwall Community Hospital.
Last year’s total was $105,554.
The money is going toward a new $400,000 mammography machine, to replace a unit that is 10 years old and nearly worn out.
