Nominations sought for 2019 business awards

CORNWALL – The floor is open for nominations from the community for the 2019 edition of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

The banquet, which will also recognize the 2018 Citizen of the Year, will be held Feb. 23, 2019 at Nav Center.

“We believe that people in our community can help when it comes to nominating candidates, and we look to them for their recommendations,” Chamber President Rory MacLennan said.

The slate of awards include six business awards, three individual awards and two special awards. The special ones – the Dr. Garth Taylor Humanitarian and the Breakthrough – are only given when there’s a suitable candidate.

The most significant award will be the 47th Citizen of the Year award. Rachelle Lamond was named Citizen of the Year, this year (for 2017).

You can get nomination forms at the chamber office at 113 Second Street East or on its website.
