CORNWALL – A welfare fraud case will be going to trial in late 2019.

Suzanne Desnoyers, 45, is charged with fraud over $5,000.

She is accused of failing to notify Ontario Works authorities of changes in her living arrangements, which led to a $57,655 overpayment over six years.

Desnoyers was arrested March 19, 2018.

Court records show the case has been scheduled for a five day trial, starting Oct. 28, 2019. It will come up for a status check in early September 2019 to make sure the trial is proceeding.

Fraud over $5,000 carries a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison.
