CORNWALL – A city woman is facing a charge of attempted murder after a fight involving a knife Sunday.

Cornwall police say a woman assaulted a man with a knife while threatening to kill him on Edward Street.

The victim had non-life threatening injuries but did require medical aid from paramedics, police spokesman Stephanie MacRae told Cornwall Newswatch.

Investigators are not saying whether the man was cut or stabbed because it’s considered evidence before the courts.

The victim and the perpetrator did not know each other, police said.

Linda Ceasor, 47, of Cornwall is charged with attempted murder, possession of a dangerous weapon and making threats.

She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
