LONG SAULT – Voters in South Stormont will be able to hear their candidates for mayor, deputy mayor and council tonight (Tuesday).

The South Stormont Chamber of Commerce is hosting a “Meet the Candidates Event” at the township offices at 2 Mille Roches Road.

The format won’t be a debate. The candidates will share their platforms and it will be followed by a question and answer session.

There are three candidates running for mayor: Christopher Bonneville, Tammy Hart and Bryan McGillis.

Current councillors David Smith and Richard Waldroff are running for deputy mayor.

Voters will have nine choices for three council seats: Earle DePass, Helen Dunlop, Andrew Guindon, Louise Leclerc, Jennifer MacIsaac, Reid McIntyre, Donna Primeau (incumbent), Dale Rudderham and Cindy Woods.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m.

If you miss this one, the Cornwall Township Lions Club is hosting another all-candidates evening on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in Bonville.
