CORNWALL – The Upper Canada District School Board has opened its new Cornwall location for the TR Leger School of Adult, Alternative and Continuing Education.

The campus is in the old Immaculate Conception Catholic School at 300 McConnell Avenue – a building the UCDSB got in a deal with the Catholic board.

In exchange, the CDSBEO received the second half of the building where General Vanier used to be – St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School is in the other half of the building at 1500 Cumberland Street.

School board officials and politicians held a ribbon cutting this morning (Monday).

Local trustee David McDonald says the new location is “a testament to the school board’s commitment to provide students with modern learning environments” and it’s in a better city location for students and staff.

TR Leger has nine programs and services for 332 students.

The principal of TR Leger is Sandy McInnes.
