Robinson brings home Muay Thai trophy

CORNWALL – A Muay Thai kickboxer from Moose Creek has brought home a divisional trophy from the 2018 International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) World Classic in Florida.

Alexandre Robinson competed last weekend (Aug. 3-5) at the event in Orlando, Fla. and won in the light heavyweight division.

Robinson competed in three matches with his final bout won through a second round knockout (KO) after a kick to the head of his opponent, trainer Stephen Patrick told Cornwall Newswatch.

Robinson was among 12 fighters from Ontario at the world championship.

The home base for the 21-year-old and his trainer, Stephen Patrick, is Seaway Academy of Martial Arts in Cornwall.
