Human remains are Leaf, police say

AKWESASNE – Six months after he disappeared, family and friends of Kenneth “Kenny” Leaf received the news they had feared.

Quebec Provincial Police have positively identified human remains found on St. Regis Island this week as the 50-year-old who went missing in January.

The case is a murder investigation.

“Investigators from the different police services are working together in order to identify the perpetrator(s) of this vile crime,” the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service said in a release.
