CORNWALL/SOUTH GLENGARRY – A truck driver was treated for minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after a tractor-trailer fire on Highway 401.

Due to its proximity to the municipal border (mile marker 802), initially Cornwall firefighters went to the scene before the case was turned over to South Glengarry firefighters because it was east of Boundary Road.

The fire department initially responded around 5:30 p.m.

The cab of the truck was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived.

Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services were also on scene where they treated the driver, who was complaining of some smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is not known.
