SOUTH GLENGARRY – A truck driver has been charged in connection to a six vehicle pileup on Highway 401 in August 2017.
The pileup in the westbound lanes involved four passenger vehicles and two tractor trailers, which resulted in the death of 32-year-old Kimberly Oosting, 32, of Riviere Beaudette, Que.
Five others were transported to hospital with various non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators determined a truck collided with a westbound passenger vehicle, forcing it into several other vehicles.
O.P.P. Technical Traffic Collision investigators wrapped up their case yesterday (June 6) and announced charges in connection with the crash.
Sarbjot Pander, 21, of Mississauga, Ont. is facing one count of dangerous driving causing death.
He will appear in an Alexandria courtroom on July 4 to answer to the charge.
A conviction on dangerous driving causing death carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
