CORNWALL – An Ottawa man is facing seven charges after an attack on another man inside a Cornwall home.

City police say the victim was hit with a golf club and his dog was kicked yesterday (Tuesday) during an altercation in the victim’s home on McConnell Avenue.

Investigators say the perpetrator and the victim knew each other but did not elaborate on what started the fight.

Cornwall police Const. Dan Cloutier said the suspect – a 25-year-old Ottawa man – was arrested the same day after showing back up at the victim’s home. “The suspect, who was not present during the investigation, returned and police were notified.”

The Ottawa man is facing charges of assault, assault with a weapon, injuring an animal, possession of meth, possession of novo-methylphenidate (commonly known as Ritalin), as well as two court breaches for failing to keep the peace and to stay in his Ottawa home.

He was held for a bail hearing.
