Sydney-Fifth t-bone crash sends one to hospital

CORNWALL – One driver has been taken to hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries after a t-bone crash at Sydney Street and Fifth Street East.

The collision between a Bell service van and a Subaru station wagon happened around 11:30 a.m.

Cornwall police, Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services and Cornwall firefighters were on scene moments after the crash.

Police say the man driving the Subaru was taken to hospital by paramedics.

The driver of the Bell van was uninjured.

While road conditions were slippery and slushy at the intersection, an investigation is ongoing to determine if weather was a factor in the collision.

Part of the intersection (Fifth Street) was blocked while tow trucks removed the vehicles. It has since reopened to traffic.
