CORNWALL – While the Cornwall edition of the Terry Fox Run saw fewer participants, more money was raised this year compared to 2016.
Organizer Josee Sauve announced Sunday night, $18,759 had been raised as people ran, biked and rolled along the waterfront trail in the city.
There were 230 people taking part – down from 261 last year.
“We had one young man, a 9-year old named Oarn Crawford who collected $750 when his goal was $400. His dedication and hard work is the embodiment of what Terry Fox believed in by raising money for Cancer Research. Oarn is only one example of why this run was such a success!” Sauve said.
As for the upcoming Terry Fox Run on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2018 there will be a change at the helm.
Sauve is stepping down, welcoming Chris Nicholls to take her part in organizing the 28th annual event for cancer awareness and research.
