LONG SAULT – For the second time this year, a municipal government will hold a photo-op to mark a significant chapter in a road construction project.

Dignitaries with the United Counties of SD&G will gather at the intersection of Moulinette Road (County Road 35) and County Road 2 to officially start the $2.2 million roundabout project.

The groundbreaking photo-op is Thursday (Aug. 10) at 1 p.m.

Part of the tab for the project — $980,000 – is being paid for by the provincial government through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.

The county has hired Cornwall Gravel to build two roundabouts at Moulinette Road and Mille Roches Road in Long Sault and do other streetscape work.

Earlier this year, officials with the City of Cornwall and the Federal Bridge Corporation cut at ribbon at the base of the Rotary Traffic Circle on Brookdale Avenue to mark the completion of the $75 million high-level bridge replacement project.
