KINGSTON – Provincial police believe there may be unwitting victims in Eastern Ontario of a Kingston based firm known as Next Level Investments.
Working with the Kingston Police Force since March, the O.P.P. Criminal Investigation Branch executed search warrants and five people have been arrested.
One of the accused is the company’s CEO, according to Kingston media reports.
They are all facing fraud-related charges.
Kingston police had initially handled the case on the investment firm, but the O.P.P. came on board due to complexity a sheer size of the investigation, described as a major case.
Details of what exactly has happened are protected by a court publication ban, the O.P.P. said.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have been a victim of the company or invested with them. That includes people who received or were promised a return on their investment.
