SOUTH STORMONT – Four people were taken to hospital to be checked over Monday after a two vehicle collision on Highway 401, west of Cornwall.

South Stormont firefighters, SD&G O.P.P. and the Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Service were called to mile marker 781 (near the Avonmore Road overpass) just before 11 p.m.

SD&G O.P.P. Const. Joel Doiron says a minivan and tractor trailer collided in the westbound lanes, causing the minivan to roll.

Four people in the minivan – all from the Toronto area – were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Doiron said.

A police investigation is ongoing.
