Lots of rain overnight into Tuesday: Environment Canada

EASTERN ONTARIO – While we’ve enjoyed sunshine and temperatures of 9-12 degrees, get ready for a lot of rain overnight and into Tuesday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region as a low pressure system moves into the region tonight (Monday).

We can expect rainfall amounts totalling 20-30 millimeters (0.78-1.18 inches) by Tuesday night.

While significant, it’s below the amount that would trigger a rainfall warning (50 millimeters/1.96 inches in 24 hours).

The South Nation Conservation Authority also issued a cautionary statement today, alerting residents to the possibility of some nuisance flooding this week with the milder weather.
