CORNWALL – A man has been charged three months after a pellet handgun was pointed at another man near the RCAF boat launch, police said Monday.
City police said it happened May 14, 2016 in the area around the boat launch off Water Street and police were called to investigate.
A 28-year-old man from Long Sault was stopped by O.P.P. in Morrisburg on Friday (Aug. 12) and was turned over to the Cornwall Community Police Service.
Const. Dan Cloutier told Cornwall Newswatch they don’t believe the intended victim and the perpetrator knew each other.
Cloutier said there was an argument prior to the gun being pointed though he could not get into specifics because it’s evidence before the court.
The man faces charges of pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
