CORNWALL – The cause of a fire, which resulted in extensive damage to a home on Anderson Drive in Cornwall, is undetermined.

“However, some form of human intervention had occurred,” Fire Chief Pierre Voisine told Cornwall Newswatch Friday.

Voisine said the point of origin in the single storey home was “inconclusive” and the source of the fire was unknown.

The extremely smoky fire caused extensive damage to the basement and the main level of the brick home at 405 Anderson Drive on the west side of the street.

One one was home at the time of the fire, which was called in by a passerby who noticed smoke billowing out of the carport Tuesday night (July 12).

There were no injuries.
