Cornwall police close to arrest in armed robbery

CORNWALL – Police say they are making significant progress in finding the culprits behind an armed robbery of a Brookdale Avenue pharmacy.

The Shoppers Drug Mart near the intersection of Thirteenth Street was robbed at knife-point around 9 p.m. Monday night.

Two men wearing bandannas or cloths over their face demanded cash and narcotics.

They got away with an undisclosed amount of both and took off in a van.

The Cornwall Community Police Service Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation.

Const. Dan Cloutier said, as of Thursday, they were making “significant progress” and “an arrest will be made.”

Cloutier said no information was released right away because investigators “needed time to assess and establish the direction of the investigation.”
