CORNWALL — A late July parade to recognize those with disabilities has been cancelled.
Parade of Nations founder Marie Morell says, while the city had committed services in-kind for the event, it didn’t include the cost of policing.
“The organization being the last kid of the block can rarely obtain cash donation sponsors to hold its events…what brings the people in to help pay for the activities of people with special needs, artistically inclined, are the people walking, driving in the parade and those watching it,” Morell said.
A craft show in September in the civic complex salons will still be going ahead.
