NORTH DUNDAS – The township has become the latest SD&G municipality to lift its restriction on open air burning.

The Winchester Fire Department announced at 4:30 p.m. Sunday on its Facebook page that the fire ban had been lifted.

People in North Dundas still need a permit for open air burning.

The area has seen periodic showers and cooler temperatures.

South Stormont lifted its burn ban on May 3, 2016 and South Dundas did the same on May 5, 2016.

The other townships don’t have burn bans in effect.
