Typhoons win bronze at provincials

TORONTO – The Cornwall Atom Typhoons have brought home a bronze medal from the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) Provincial Championships.

Ella Dickson scored with four seconds left on the clock in the seventh overtime to seal a 3-2 victory over Etobicoke on Sunday.

Also scoring for the Typhoons were Paisley Cook and Maude Millette.

The team had gone undefeated through round robin play with wins over Ottawa, Caledon and Ancaster. The Typhoons then blanked Oakville 4-0 in the quarter-final before losing to the Ottawa Ice 2-0 in the semi.

The Atom B Typhoons are made up of players from Cornwall, South Glengarry and South Stormont.
