SOUTH STORMONT/SOUTH DUNDAS – A weekend overnight shutdown of Highway 401, west of Cornwall, has been delayed a week due to the weather.

Demolition crews had planned on shutting down the eastbound and then the westbound lanes of Highway 401 overnight Friday and Saturday to demolish the first of two overpasses.

But Pomerleau Inc. won’t start taking down the Aultsville Road overpass in South Stormont until next weekend (April 15-17) because of all the snow we’ve received.

Consequently, the demolition of the Brinston Road overpass in South Dundas will be done a week later than originally planned – April 22-24, 2016.
