SD&G – It appears some drivers weren’t prepared for the early spring dumping of wet snow Wednesday.
SD&G O.P.P. say they investigated 29 crashes – mostly in Stormont County – after roughly 10 centimeters (four inches) of snow fell on the region.
In one case, an ATV rider died after colliding with a transport, while the other crashes were mainly vehicles in ditches or in the median of Highways 401 and 417.
Meanwhile, Cornwall’s safety, training and operations supervisor cautioned residents about possible street flooding as catch basins become clogged with melting snow.
Tommy Sauve also added in a Facebook post that motorists should be mindful about puddles when driving by pedestrians.
