CORNWALL – A fundraising pizza party by the Kinsmen Club of Cornwall raised over $14,000 Friday night.

After a decade of local pizza joints making pies in a local fundraiser, the Kinsmen Pizza Party has topped $135,000 during that time.

Not only do a handful of local organizations benefit, but local pizza places get to have some bragging rights during the contest at the Best Western Parkway Inn.

First off, the money will be split between Cornwall Wildcats Football, the Spec Ops Program (a fitness and character development program) at Longue Sault Public School, Koala Place, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the family of Sean Cowan.

This was the second year Cowan has been recognized at this event – a 12-year-old Eamer’s Corners Public School student battling leukemia.

And for pizza bragging rights – Louis’ Pizzaria was chosen favourite by the audience and the judging panel.

It was Pizza Pizza and 2-4-1 Pizza for numbers two and three from the judges, while the audience picked Bobby’s Place and 2-4-1 Pizza.
