SMITHS FALLS, Ont. – Provincial province across Eastern Ontario handed out nearly 1,500 tickets during the Easter weekend.
Nearly two thirds of those were for speeding on O.P.P.-patrolled roads from March 25-28, 2016.
A dozen were also nabbed on street racing-related charges – travelling in excess of 50 kilometers an hour over the speed limit.
Another 103 people were charged for not buckling up.
Seven drivers were charged with being impaired behind the wheel during the holiday weekend.
