Freezing rain warning for SD&G

SD&G – A winter storm watch has been replaced with a freezing rain warning for SD&G.

Environment Canada had issued a winter storm watch this morning (Wednesday) but replaced it with a freezing rain warning around 3:30 p.m.

As a weather system from Colorado pushes into the Great Lakes region Thursday, SD&G can expect snow overnight before it changes to ice pellets Thursday afternoon.

The ice pellets will change to periods of freezing rain, giving us about 5 millimeters (0.19 inches) of ice accumulation.

It should change over to rain or drizzle by early Friday morning.

Forecasters say drivers should be prepared for bad driving conditions.
