Man crushed by falling tree in South Glengarry

GREEN VALLEY – A man is in the trauma center of The Ottawa Hospital General Campus (Civic) after being struck by a falling tree.

Cornwall SD&G paramedics and South Glengarry firefighters were called to a property on Kenyon Concession Road 1, west of Glen Roy Road, around 3 p.m. yesterday (Sunday).

EMS Chief Myles Cassidy told Cornwall Newswatch a man was assessed and treated on the scene and then transferred by ORNGE air ambulance to Ottawa.

Cassidy added that the patient was conscious when transported but his current condition is unknown.

It’s not clear what the unidentified man was doing prior to the mishap – whether he was cutting down trees at the site.
