CORNWALL – The winning streak for the Cornwall River Kings continued Friday night with a 4-2 win over the league-leading Thetford Assurancia.
There were 1,132 fans at the Ed Lumley Arena for the game.
Defenceman CJ Chartrain had the game-winning goal – a shot from the blue line with 9:40 left on the clock.
Also scoring for Cornwall were Keven Veilleux with a pair of goals and Sy Nutkevitch with a single.
The River Kings, who outshot Thetford 23-9, are now 5-0-1 in their last six games.
With seven games left in the regular season, Cornwall plays next in Trois-Rivieres on Friday Feb. 12 and home to Laval on Sunday afternoon on Feb. 14.
