SD&G – It seems drivers in SD&G were prepared for the freezing rain, which blanketed the area Wednesday morning.

The region was under a freezing rain warning and many streets and trees were covered in ice during the morning commute before it changed to rain later in the day.

Environment Canada cancelled its freezing rain warning around 11 a.m.

School buses for the French Public and French Catholic schools were cancelled this morning while English Public and English Catholic schools were on a P.A. Day.

SD&G O.P.P. Const. Joel Doiron told Cornwall Newswatch he had not heard of any serious traffic calls.

Stats released Thursday show 15 minor crashes during the freezing rain.

Cornwall police Const. Dan Cloutier said two minor crashes had come into the collision reporting center.
