WINCHESTER – An Ottawa man is facing charges in a crash between a van and a motorcycle, which killed two people from Osgoode.

SD&G O.P.P. announced Monday that Yousef Romaizan, 41, is facing two counts of dangerous driving causing death.

Shea Laughlin, 24, and her passenger Marc Sabourin, 31, were killed Aug. 13, 2015 when their motorcycle collided with an oncoming van on Belmeade Road, northwest of Winchester.

O.P.P. investigators said the van had crossed the center line just before the crash.

Romaizan will appear in a Morrisburg court April 5.

Dangerous driving is a Criminal Code offence, unlike careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

A dangerous driving conviction carries an automatic one-year licence suspension for a first time offender, as well as a criminal record.
