
CORNWALL – An upbeat weekend for the River Kings with more people in the stands and splitting a pair of games.
The Cornwall LNAH team first beat Laval 4-1 on the road Friday night against the Predateurs.
It was the first road win for the River Kings this season.
Then, last night (Saturday), it was the first home game for River Kings’ forward Keven Veilleux, picked up in a blockbuster deal earlier in the week.
He opened the scoring at 5:26 into the game.
Cornwell went to a three-on-three overtime match at the civic complex and edged out Sorel 4-3 before a crowd of 1,211.
Trade News
Even though the trade deadline is over, team management is still looking for players. Free agents Charles Lachance and Stephen Lunden were claimed off waivers.
The River Kings have also signed goalie Charles Corsi, 25, from Rosemere, Que. Corsi played seven games with Trois-Rivieres two seasons ago.
