SOUTH STORMONT – A truck driver is dead after two transports collided in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 Thursday night.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. on a section of the freeway in South Stormont, west of Boundary Road.
Investigators are trying to figure out why the two rigs collided.
A 59-year-old man from Quebec – one of the truck drivers – was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was not injured and police say none of the rigs spilled their contents.
A section of the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours last night (Thursday) for a police investigation and to clean up the scene.
