Cornwall, Brockville deadlocked at Schooners Invitational

BROCKVILLE – The college hockey teams from Cornwall and Brockville are deadlocked after the first day at the 13th annual Schooners Invitational at the Brockville Memorial Center.

The Cornwall St. Lawrence College Sharks lost Thursday to Brockville 2-1.

Then in game two it was Brockville against McMaster, where the Schooners fell to the Marauders 2-1 in a shootout. Cornwall took on La Cite and pulled out a 6-2 win.

Game three saw the Sharks defeated McMaster 6-4, while it was a 4-3 shootout win for Brockville in a back-and-forth game against the Bishop’s Gaiters.

Game four goes today (Friday) at 8 a.m. with Cornwall against the Bishop’s Gaiters. An hour later (at 9 a.m.) it’s Brockville against La Cite.

The Brockville Schooners were the tournament champions last year with a record of 5-3.
