River Kings notch home win over Predateurs

CORNWALL – The River Kings shut out the Laval Predateurs 2-0 Saturday night at the Ed Lumley Arena.

Goalie Pete Karvouniaris had a 35 save performance – several of them outstanding glove saves.

David Croteau notched the first goal at 2:27 into the second period, followed by a goal from Francois Ouimet on an empty net 19:46 in the third.

There were a reported 1,155 fans in the stands, a noticeable uptick in the number of people coming out to the games.

The team’s owner, Steve Moreau, is hoping for 1,300 fans on Sunday when the River Kings take on Trois-Rivieres at 3 p.m.
