CORNWALL – The owner of the struggling Cornwall River Kings indicted Saturday night, there will be change behind the bench sooner than later.
“It’s time for a change, that much is clear,” said Steve Moreau shortly after the LNAH team was blown out by the Thetford Assurancia 7-2.
The Cornwall River Kings are in the LNAH basement (eighth spot) with five points. Jonquiere leads the league with 27 points.
Moreau said he and head coach Rick Lalonde had “mutually agreed” to hire a new bench boss right away.
In a frustrating game for Cornwall, tempers flared in the final period, which got Lalonde ejected from the game for a gross misconduct.
According to the LNAH penalty code, Lalonde was expelled for “making a travesty of the game.”
Shortly after, fights broke out on the ice.
Attendance records show there were 847 fans at the Ed Lumley Arena for the game.
